I believe NGC just created one of the most difficult series in modern coin history. Classic high grade ultra cameo proofs are rare, but high grade mint state Full Torchs are becoming impossible to find. Beginning in 1965, the mint began making clad roosevelts and the quality and hardness of the metal made finding mint state full torch roosevelts a challenge to find. There are still a few elusive years left in the clad series that there are no full torches found so far.
This set is dedicated to my grandmother. June Brunet was born on June 9th 1932 she is still alive and doing well. She grew up during the great depression. Food and money were scarce and times were tough. My grandmother always collected roosevelt dimes,as far as I can remember. She still calls them silver dimes even though there is no more silver in them since 1964. She has a special jar that only dimes go in. Everytime she cashes in her change, she takes out all the dimes and puts them in her jar. Even though these dimes will never be worth more than face value, they are special to her. In her youth a dime was worth a lot of money. I remember as a child, I would help her go through her coin purse every week and take out the dimes and help open the huge lid of the jar. I was amazed of how many Roosevelt dimes were in there. My grandmother and grandfather got me started in coin collecting. They were never coin collectors, just kept all the old coins they found in change through the years. I know she has been saving them for over 30 years. Now a days most people dont even care about change, but for some of us it is a goal in life to collect every year and mintmark of a certain coin. I am a very serious collector of extremely high grade Roosevelts. Some of the best Roosevelt's in the world are in my collection. I only collect MS67FT or higher. If no MS67FT Roosevelts are available for a certain year, I will obtain the highest graded MS66FT until a MS67FT becomes available . I work hard to find the most Beautiful and Full Torch Roosevelts I can. In February 2007,I obtained my first Roosevelt. It was a 1946-S MS68*FT on 2-26-2007 and I took it to the extreme! I went from last place to #1 in 10 months! What I was able to do that year is rarely accomplished. This was no easy task. 60 years of Roosevelts were made, including P,D,S and SMS. Some coins in my collection are POP 1 coins. To make it into the top 5 in this series, takes a lot of dedication and luck. Year after year as I look back at my collection and the upgrades I have made, I am in awe of the beauty and rarity within my collection. I continually update the descriptions of all of the coins in my collection with pictures, populations and descriptions of the coins. 阅读全文
